Bond News and Upcoming Reviews

November 5, 2010

So, MGM has finally declared bankruptcy, clearing the way for another studio to bail out MGM’s financial commitments to The Hobbit movies .

The secondary news is that filming could begin as early as Fall 2011 for the next James Bond movie.  The question is, will Daniel Craig return as the spectacular spy?  It is an issue weighing on the minds of all 007 fans, since Craig is currently committed to all three films in the Millennium series (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest)based on Swede Steig Larsson’s trilogy of novels.

That means that it is officially time to start thinking replacements if Craig can’t squeeze in the filming of Bond between Dragon Tattoo and Fire.  The good news is that these movies are NOT filming back to back (a-la Lord of the Rings), so Craig MIGHT return, but it is looking about 50/50  at this point.

I’m hoping next week to come up with my Top Three list for Bond replacements.  Until then, feel free to offer your own ideas in the comments section as far as YOUR pick for Bond should Craig not return. Who knows – your pick might make my list!

Stay Tuned on Sunday for my Rapid Review of Due Date, and for a Rapid Review of Harry Potter 7 (pt. 1) the weekend of November 20-21st!
